DRT XV-1s
Specifications
-
The magnet circuit
comprises 8 small ALNICO magnets.
-
On the front yokes,
magnetic stabilizing coils are wound.
-
A revolutionary
square shaped front aperture with a matching square shaped
armature.
Dynavector continue to research and have
pushed the boundary further with the XV-1s. Although the
specifications remain the same a significant up upgrade in both
magnetic and body parts achieve a startling improvement in imaging,
along with a smooth as silk extension over the entire frequency
range.
The XV-1s is the latest evolution of
Dynavector design and features the advanced multi magnet design that
stabilizes the magnetic flux density between the front yoke and the
equalizer component, around the air gap.
The XV-1s also features a revolutionary
square shaped front aperture with a matching square shaped armature
this enables the moving coil wound armature to move in an equalized
and stable magnetic flux.
Although slightly smaller in dimension the
front yoke aperture is also square shape to match the armature along
with a square shaped counterbore to the equalizer component part.

DRT XV-1
Specifications
-
The magnet circuit
comprises 8 small ALNICO magnets.
-
On the front
yokes, magnetic stabilizing coils are wound.
Dynavector decided to fight back in order to
protect the vast existing stock of recordings in analogue media, by
producing a cartridge capable of musical reproduction above, or at
least equal to any digital source. The XV-1cartridge was designed to
meet this ambitious brief and has succeeded in providing the finest
analogue reproduction possible. Listening to the XV-1 it is evident
that here is the finest cartridge in the world.
The XV-1 has been awarded 'Golden Ear
Award 2001' in the Absolute Sound magazine for its highly
advanced technology.
At a glance, the XV-1 is different from all
cartridges that have gone before. The magnetic path is divided into
two - In the magnetic gap, a specially designed magnetic flux
equalizing piece is placed. On the front yokes, magnetic stabilizing
coils are wound. By this special combination, the magnetic field
becomes widely homogeneous and more linear than the conventional
magnetic design that is common in existing MC cartridges. Currently
the design trend of MC cartridges is to employ stronger and harder
magnets. The XV-1 takes the opposite approach. This is the
theoretical conclusion of Dynavector.
The result? - deeper and more accurate bass,
brighter but much smoother treble and better L/R separation. Very
low distortion, especially of 3rd harmonics, results in a life-like
musicality and ease of reproduction impossible using normal MCs.
After hearing the music produced by the XV-1 even 'high-end' CD
players sound thin, lacking any real deep bass. This cartridge
handles the smooth string note and heavy dynamics of big orchestral
works like Prokofiev, Schostakovich, Mahler etc. with unique ease,
to bring the full glory of analogue recordings to the listener who
wants the very best possible sound from their stock of LP records.

Te Kaitora
Specifications
The Maori name gives away the
fact that Te Kaitora is a collaboration between Dynavector New
Zealand and Dynavector Japan. Dynavector New Zealand have been
responsible for a range of high quality pre amps, power amps and
phono stages. They encouraging Dynavector Japan to build a no holds
barred cartridge. Te Kaitora is the result.
It is a nude design, that is
it has no cover. This helps keep weight down, removes the chance of
information losing vibrations and does not allow dust to collect as
is possible in enclosed designs
A titanium headblock is used
for lightness and rigid construction. The Te Kaitora has a 6mm long
solid boron cantilever fittied with Pathfinder line contact stylus.
The coils are of very fine silver wire wound using Dynavector
founder Dr Tominari's own design of coilwinding machine. This set up
gives a good output level of 0.25mV with a very light and agile coil
assembly which leads to secure tracking and a 'quick' sound.
On the frontyoke there is
another coil which is Dynavectors flux damper. Another unique
feature to Dynavector is their softened magnetism, ferrous metal
strips arranged to alter the magnetic field. These two features
combine to eliminate the distortion caused by excess magnetic flux
produced by the high energy magnets used in modern cartridges.
A compliance of 10 CU and
weight of 8.8 grams make it compatible with arms from Well Tempered,
Linn, Naim, SME and others.

DV XX-2
Specifications
The DV XX-1 was the first
cartridge to feature a "magnetic flux damper" (patent) and
softened magnetism" (patent) processes that reject the magnetic
fluctuation that is detrimental to a moving coil cartridges
performance.
The XX-2 also exhibits deep
powerful bass, treble is both clear and lively possessing none of
the hardness found in many moving coil designs. This can be
accredited to not only Dynavector's skilled assembly techniques but
also a meticulous attention to design, materials, and engineering
expertise.

DV KARAT
17D2 MKll
Specifications
17D2 MKll 'Karat Diamond' is
the first cartridge built using 'dispersion' theory. Its Micro-Ridge
stylus and very short (1.7mm long) solid diamond cantilever give a
reduction in 'dispersion' along with improved high frequency
extension all the way up to 100KHz. The latest Dynavector's patented
magnet circuit design achieved higher output of 0.26mV with crystal
clear mid-range and treble even during the largest symphonic
crescendos.

DV-20X H/L
Specifications
TDV-20X has a solid aluminium-alloy
body similar to the XX-2. This makes a rigid platform for the
cartridge motor and aids secure fitting to the arm. The cantilever
is a 6mm length hard aluminium pipe cantilever with a perfect
elliptical nude diamond stylus.
The magnetic flux damping and
softened magnetism along with powerful Neodymium magnet gives out
the 20XH a healthy 2.8 mV output at a suitable impedance for most MM
inputs. The 20XL has an output of 0.3 mV ideal for most MC phono
stage.

DV - 10X5
Specifications
The Dynavector 10X series
High Output Moving Coil cartridge debuted in 1978 winning the
prestigious Design and Engineering Award at the Chicago CES in both
1978 and 1981. The 10X series cartridges are also widely accepted at
the benchmark in High Output moving coil cartridge at this price
point and beyond.
With the introduction of the
new 10X5 High Output moving coil there is no doubt Dynavector will
retain this enviable position and again set the standard for high
output moving coil cartridges.

P-75 Head
Amp
Specifications
-
Suitable for all conventional stereo
cartridges
-
User friendly adjustments - No soldering
or extra components required
-
Patented Dynavector Phono Enhancing
circuit
-
Unique ultra low noise power supply
The P-75 also includes the
patent P E (phono enhancing) circuit designed by Dr Tominari to
dramatically improve the performance of low output moving coil
cartridges.
By a simple arrangement of
jumper settings all conventional, MM, MI, high and low output
cartridges are catered for.
The P-75 also has an advanced
power supply that operates from a conventional 12V AC to DC adaptor.
This adaptor has absolutely no bearing on the sound quality. The
P-75 power supply runs at over 1/4MHz. It takes the low grade single
voltage DC supply from the ac adapter and converts it to the dual
high voltages required for true professional quality audio
reproduction. The operating frequency is over 12 times higher than
the top of the audio band and it incorporates super low noise
wideband regulators in its output stage to give ultra low noise
supply rails. The internal P-75 power supply is totally self
contained and stores many times the maximum possible energy
requirements for the phono amplifiers. This means that the quality
or size of the external ac adaptor is irrelevant. Increasing the
capacity of the external supply will make no difference to the
quality of the sound.
Like all Dynavector products
the P-75 whilst innovative carries on our proud tradition of
faithfulness to the heritage of phonographic recordings, exhibiting
clear, full-bodied, distortion free sound that analog enthusiasts
require.
